This year has provided me with much to be thankful for and given that here in the States we’re getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving, now is the perfect time for a Vintage Thanksgiving celebration. Let me know what you would add to this list in the comments…

Appreciating great friendships

Being surrounded by amazing friends is one of the fundamental joys in life. It’s always nice to be with people who understand you. It gets even better when you feel you’ve found a shorthand way to communicate because you’re always on the same page.

Friends lift you up when you’re down (and even call you out when you’re getting too big for your britches!). They are truly people to be thankful for – check out these vintage friendships:

Feeling powerful in your own skin

Loving yourself is a work in progress and I guarantee that everyone has days when they feel less than powerful. But if a stroll through vintage history tells us anything, it’s that everyone has a place. Uniqueness is just that – unique. Special.

There’s power in being special. Whether you embrace it by donning your favorite frock, taking on that new project, or standing tall – go forth and be thankful for the amazingness that is you! Look no further than these powerful examples:

Finding your voice and not giving up

I find history lessons endlessly inspirational – you get to meet people who overcame obstacles to accomplish something extraordinary. I’ve listed just a few examples of my favorites, but I could go on and on.

Always be thankful for new adventures

Starting to go with the flow

We live in a world where control is everywhere – a moment doesn’t go by where we’re disconnected. Think about it – when’s the last time you got lost? The temptation to turn on Google maps is too strong; this modern world promises instant gratification. I don’t know about you, but that makes me feel like I should go with the flow more.

Join me in channeling your inner vintage and decide to wander freely once in a while. Be thankful for wanderlust. Need a dose of courage before you put down your phone? Check out this trio:
